Kamari is situated in the east part of Santorini, 10 km from the island’s capital, Fira. The name Kamari, which means proud, was given to the region due to the extension of the beach and the crystal clear waters.

The homonym beach is one of the most beautiful in the island with a length of 2 km. It attracts most of the tourists that visit the island every year.

The settlement is relatively new-built and has many hotels, restaurants, shops, bars and cafes. Most of the shops are found along the coastal road.

Following the path, through Kamari, you will reach the site of ancient Thira and the remains of a town dated back to the 8th BC.
